Job summary

Walmart is expanding its facilities team and is hiring a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our local store staff. In this role you'll maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets across trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment, using hand and power tools.

You will work under the General Maintenance Manager, follow maintenance schedules, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the FMCSA, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.]
• Preferred Qualifications…: Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program, Experience using Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint, License in related trade, Reading blueprints/schematics, Using hand tools and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, or related trades.
• Use the work order system to manage repairs for Stores and Store associates.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete required training to operate equipment safely.
