Job summary

MTU Maintenance Fort Worth is seeking a skilled facilities maintenance technician to support the aviation engine repair shop and campus. You will inspect and service building systems, manage access control, and coordinate with IT and security to keep operations running securely and safely.

Your duties include preventive maintenance, incident response, inventory control, and detailed record-keeping in compliance with OSHA and FAA standards.

Your tasks
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, security systems, and access control systems, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Execute scheduled inspections and lubrication to guarantee proper functioning and safety of all equipment and systems, including machinery and plant security infrastructure.
  • Maintain the aviation engine repair shop in a clean, organized, and well‑maintained condition. Responsibilities include tasks such as painting, equipment calibration, and IT infrastructure support to foster a safe and efficient working environment for technicians.
  • Oversee and manage access control systems to ensure appropriate entry to secure areas, including monitoring access logs and responding to unauthorized access incidents.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure plant security measures are effective and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with security personnel to implement necessary changes.
  • Adhere to stringent safety protocols and regulations in all maintenance activities. Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Be available for emergency maintenance calls and respond promptly to urgent issues that may arise in the aviation engine repair shop. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, including IT‑related issues, to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and equipment components. Monitor stock levels, place orders as needed and ensure that essential supplies are readily available to support maintenance operations.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, repairs, and equipment maintenance schedules. Ensure accurate documentation to track maintenance history, identify trends, and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments, such as engineering, quality control, security, and IT, to support ongoing operations and minimize disruptions.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and external vendors to facilitate maintenance projects and repairs, including IT systems and security measures.
Your profile
  • Proficiency in performing maintenance and repair tasks related to building systems, aviation equipment, and machinery, with a strong understanding of access control and plant security measures. Knowledge of aviation engine repair processes and IT troubleshooting is highly desirable.
  • Ability to diagnose complex maintenance issues, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions (including security and IT systems), and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Resourcefulness and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations in a high‑risk environment. Familiarity with OSHA and FAA regulations, as well as security standards, pertaining to facilities maintenance and aviation operations.
  • Meticulousness in conducting inspections, identifying maintenance needs, and maintaining accurate records. Ensure that all maintenance tasks are performed to the highest standards of quality and precision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally and effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external contacts. Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to work closely with other team members, including those in IT, security, and maintenance, to achieve common goals. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on facility electrical systems.
  • Support electrical construction, renovation, and equipment installation projects.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical failures to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect electrical panels, transformers, motors, lighting, and distribution equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain work orders, maintenance records, and inspection documentation.
  • Support general facility maintenance activities as needed.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; technical certification or vocational training in facilities maintenance, HVAC or related fields.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of documented experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in an aviation or aerospace environment; preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of physical ergonomics; walking, standing, sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights with proper fall protection.
