Job summary

MTU Maintenance Fort Worth is seeking a Buyer/Procurement Specialist to source and purchase MRO services, materials, tooling, and related supplies. You will manage supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and support cost-reduction initiatives in a fast-paced aviation environment.

You have at least 3 years of procurement experience, negotiation skills, and proficiency with purchasing systems (SAP preferred).

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of direct procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or buyer experience.
• Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, and commercial terms.
• Ability to evaluate, develop, and manage supplier performance.
• Capability to analyze spend, pricing structures, and market trends.
• Computer skills to utilize inventory and purchase systems.
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable.

Your Tasks

• Sourcing and purchasing activities for e.g. MRO support services and materials, tooling, facilities, IT, logistics and other supplies.
• Receive material/ service requirements and fulfill with existing inventory or initiate immediate purchase order or repair order as needed from approved vendors and per company policy.
• Monitor vendor performance and material delivery commitments to assure timely availability in support of production and customer operational needs.
• Manage supplier relationships and development.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Identify, communicate, and establish process improvements.
• Assist in training co-workers on applicable systems and supplier programs.
• Provide daily status updates on material purchases and/or repair status at outside vendors.
• Other tasks as deemed necessary by supervisor and based on company needs.

Your Profile

• Minimum 3 years of direct procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or buyer experience required.
• Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, and commercial terms.
• Ability to evaluate, develop, and manage supplier performance.
• Capability to analyze spend, pricing structures, and market trends.
• Excellent work ethic and motivation for a high standard of work.
• Ability to work and communicate directly with suppliers and repair vendors.
• Ability to review new and existing vendor contracts to assure compliance.
• Computer skills necessary to utilize existing inventory and purchase systems.
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
• Basic computer skills and ability to generate daily, weekly, and quarterly status reports.
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively across all functions to better understand the material support needs and to collaborate with other team members to identify and establish short and long-term solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to work flexible schedules as necessary in support of ongoing projects.
• Represent the company in a professional manner and reflect a positive image with customers.
