Job summary

Extended Care LLC in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to perform repairs, schedule contractors, monitor facility systems, and conduct routine maintenance to keep residents safe and comfortable.

The role requires carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and knowledge of building and fire safety regulations, strong organizational skills, and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Full-time with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and general building maintenance.
• Understanding of building and fire safety regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy exertion including lifting 50–100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders assigned by the Maintenance Director, including changing light bulbs, AC filters, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, fixing sheetrock, and other maintenance duties.
• Assist with maintenance of facility areas, including grounds, fences, parking areas, furniture, appliances, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and repair service equipment, power tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Keep preventative maintenance records and utilize a work order tracking system.
• Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Identify and resolve potential safety hazards to protect residents, visitors, and staff.
