Facilities Maintenance Technician- Building Engineer ($20,000 Sign-On Bonus)

Join us as a Facilities Maintenance Technician- Building Engineer at United Airlines. This full-time role offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

About the Role

Our Technical Operations team ensures our aircraft are well maintained and ready to fly. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related equipment, to support our operations and aircraft readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general building maintenance, with emphasis on electrical systems including AC & DC circuits, high voltage (480V), and high amperage equipment.
  • Read and follow wiring schematics; execute industrial wiring tasks independently.
  • Make low and high voltage repairs to electrical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain related building systems such as air handling units, fire systems, and conveyors.
  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Operate within union guidelines as represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT).
Qualifications
  • At least 24 months of experience in electrical (including 480V 3-phase), structural, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or PLC controls.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor and elevated areas.
  • Valid, clean driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with tools, data entry, and troubleshooting electronics is a plus.
Additional Information
  • Starting pay is $38.23 per hour.
  • Position is eligible for profit sharing.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), pension, and flight privileges.
  • Union membership required within 90 days of employment; union dues and initiation fees apply.
