Job summary

Bright Innovation Labs is seeking a 3rd shift Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform skilled maintenance across mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. You will troubleshoot pumps, read blueprints, operate hand and power tools, and keep equipment in safe operation while following GMP/Safety standards.

The role requires hands-on ability with welding (MIG/TIG), carpentry, and routine facility inspections.

Qualifications

• This role requires skilled maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and facilities trades.
• Experience with pumps, boilers, HVAC, plumbing and safety systems is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and work from schedules with attention to GMP-like standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance and repair across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs pumps, HVAC equipment, and safety systems.
• Reads blueprints and works from schematics and drawings.
• Maintains equipment and facilities in safe operating condition.

3rd shift Facilities Maintenance Technician

Essential Functions

• Performs work of a skilled variety, demanding a high degree of manual and technical competency
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair pump's
• Locates and determines malfunctions using test equipment
• Facilities repair, carpentry, drywall and paint
• Plumbing
• Performs checks on safety equipment
• Basic Tig and Mig welding mild steel, and stainless steel
• Ability to read blueprints
• Move parts and frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility
• Maintains equipment and facilities in a safe operating condition. Repair breakdowns as required
• Makes operating line adjustments as requested
• Operate angle grinder, manual vertical band saw, and pedestal grinder. Understand and follow company GMP/Safety Standards and policies
• Participate, as required, in safety and GMP training sessions, and other company training sessions

Competencies

Piping

• Knowledge of domestic plumbing
• Knowledge of all types of valves and functions. Including automated valve actuators.

Boilers

• Understanding boiler operations, chemical feed system, condensate return systems, Y strainers and steam trap functions.

Air compressor

• Knowledge of rotary screw compressors, air dryers, oil/water separators.

Wastewater

• Basic understanding of Ph balance and levels

HVAC

• Knowledge of rooftop AC units, exhaust fans, automated louvers, gas heaters.

Building Maintenance

• General construction ability. Repair drywall, light fixtures/bulbs, general bathroom repairs, painting, daily facility inspections and repairs, egress lighting, fire extinguisher inspections, storm water inspections.

Tools

• Knowledge and ability to use all types of hand tools and power tools.

Electrical

• Knowledge of low voltage (12v thru 120v) electrical circuits, breaker box

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
