Facilities Maintenance Technician - 1st shift (Maintenance)
Faribault Foods Inc., a leading food manufacturing plant located in Rita Ranch, is seeking applicants with a positive attitude and willingness to learn to join our Maintenance team. We produce, can, and supply whole beans, refried beans, and enchilada sauces across over 15 branded items and numerous private labels.
Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm
Summary
The primary role of the Facilities Maintenance Technician is to maintain and repair the Plant Facility. Responsibilities include painting, lighting, floor repairs, bathroom fixtures, etc., ensuring the plant is maintained to high standards and providing a safe working environment. Performance will align with company goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate as a team member within the Maintenance Organization.
- Apply troubleshooting skills to determine whether to repair or replace equipment.
- Communicate technical issues, equipment problems, and improvement ideas to the Maintenance Manager or coordinator.
- Document repairs and findings in work orders for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP).
- Generate work orders, and input and retrieve data from the CMMS system.
- Perform simple wiring tasks, such as ballast and bathroom controller wiring.
- Use a Digital Volt Meter to diagnose electrical issues.
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance (PMs), inspections, and repairs during shutdowns, which may require weekend work or shift changes.
- Assist with basic maintenance functions as needed.
- Address mechanical, electrical, material, and safety discrepancies, reporting them as necessary.
- Rotate shifts as required.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment, respecting GMPs.
- Work in confined spaces and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Maintain OSHA Certified Forklift License.
- Demonstrate good attendance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Training and experience in skills such as painting, carpentry, tile installation, bathroom fixture repairs, or replacements.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Basic computer skills, preferably with MS Office.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic, ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
- Physical ability to perform job functions, with accommodations if needed.
