Description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Minnesota Industrial Coatings. The Maintenance Technician oversees and performs a wide range of maintenance, repair, and safety tasks across our facility. The Maintenance Technician will provide emergency and scheduled repairs, conduct OSHA-required inspections, and ensure the proper functioning of production equipment, HVAC systems, and building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  2. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment or call out to vendors to arrange servicing.
  3. Perform OSHA required inspections and assist with safety committee maintenance fixes.
  4. Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  5. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  6. Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
  7. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  8. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  9. Perform annual and monthly maintenance of HVAC units and make service calls as needed.
  10. Operate industrial equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts.
  11. Monitor and perform general routine maintenance or repairs on air compressors, indoor and outdoor lighting, camera systems, plumbing needs, eye wash stations, overhead heaters, outdoor parking and driveways/sidewalks, and other equipment as needed.
  12. Take responsibility for general groundskeeping and determine needs for repair, replacement, and upgrading as needed.
  13. Address roof leaks as needed.
  14. Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues and needs throughout the facility.
  15. Assist the production line and shop floor with tasks in times of high demand.
  16. Assist/support the Operations Manager with tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education preferred.
  2. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in maintenance positions in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Knowledge of facilities repair work, installations, construction works, plumbing, etc.
  4. Strong computer skills.
  5. Knowledge of electrical wiring systems, low and high voltage preferred a plus.
  6. Paint facility experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently.
  2. Excellent hand/eye coordination.
  3. Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  4. Ability to consistently wear personal protective equipment.
  5. Standing, walking, and bending consistently.
  6. Periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  7. Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools.
