Job summary

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA is seeking a part-time Facilities Maintenance Tech to assist with minor maintenance and event setups for the venue and its ballrooms. You will help maintain seating, lighting, and other fixtures, ensuring timely completion of theatre and ballroom event preparations.

Responsibilities include moving equipment, assisting with deliveries, and supporting staff with maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic facility maintenance skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, HVAC, and janitorial procedures.

About the Marquee Club Presented by Lexus

The Marquee Club Presented by Lexus is the Fox Theatre's premium club space open to Club Level seat holders or annual Members only. Adjacent to the theatre, the Moroccan and Middle Eastern-style club is 10,000 square feet of luxury space that includes five premium bars; and three rooftop environments, including the climate-controlled Conservatory, patio-covered Arcade Terrace, and outdoor Rooftop Terrace. The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Facilities Maintenance Tech.

Assist with minor general maintenance and repairs on the facility and its equipment as directed. Ensure proper and timely completion of theatre and ballroom event setup.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform minor general maintenance on the building and its fixtures to include seating, lighting, minor construction, painting, etc as assigned in the work order system, in a timely and accurate manner, and log all activity in the work order management system.
  • Complete timely and accurate ballroom and theatre event setups according to event floor plans and diagrams, including tables/chairs, dance floors, bars, furniture, or other equipment as needed.
  • Load, unload, and move furniture, equipment, fixtures, deliveries, and other items as needed.
  • Receive and deliver deliveries as needed.
  • Respond to inbound requests for admin or event support like equipment troubleshooting, ladder needs, light bulb changes, etc.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Must have basic facility maintenance skills including 2 or more of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, HVAC, and janitorial procedures;
  • Must have general computer proficiency skills including word processing, e‑mail, Internet navigation;
  • Must have knowledge of workplace safety procedures;
  • Ability to successfully interface with guests, vendors and contractors is preferred;
  • Ability to operate power tools, motor vehicles (including forklift, genie lift, etc.), and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment is preferred;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills preferred;
  • Experience in multi‑tasking preferred.
Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Regular periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required;
  • Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs;
  • Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder;
  • Must be able to lift materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and be capable of moving/pulling/pushing up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary.
Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to work extended or irregular hours including frequent evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment background check.
