Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Custodial & Maintenance General Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance and minor repairs across district facilities. The role involves carpentry, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, electronics, painting, and grounds upkeep.

Candidates should be able to handle emergencies, attend to tools and inventory, and work with various trades as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of

Qualifications

Must have basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, electronics, HVAC, painting and grounds.
Must have knowledge and experience in building ventilation and air filtering
Must have ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, ladders, and scaffolding
Must have ability to work well with others and knowledge of safety codes (OSHA, EPA, MSDS, ADA)
Must have basic mathematical skills
Must be able to plan work and organize supplies for projects

Responsibilities

Carpentry: perform minor repairs of furniture, cabinets, doors and hardware and install equipment and materials.
Electrical: install lamps, replace switches and receptacles under 300 volts and service preventive maintenance.
HVAC: maintain mechanical systems, perform startup/shutdown, and service cooling/heating units.
Electronics: maintain scoreboards and replace intercom speakers as needed.
Painting: perform minor painting, plaster repairs, and replace window coverings.
Grounds: maintain gates and sprinkler system; assist other trades as needed.
