Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Working as part of the high‑performance team, the maintenance technician will utilize trade skills such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and light carpentry to maintain the integrity of all systems and the operation of campus buildings. The role is performed with minimal supervision and a focus on a customer‑oriented environment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Director and Assistant Director on projects ranging from painting to minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Perform daily inspections of the buildings and correct any deficiencies.
• Execute scheduled maintenance of building systems.
• Complete repairs as needed on service work orders.
• Close work order tickets using Brightly CMMS software.

OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

• Conduct outside inspections.
• Perform occasional overnight and/or on‑call duties as assigned.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of building repairs, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• PC‑based computer and Internet navigation skills.
• Experience with email and calendaring applications (Google‑based).
• Proven ability to perform diverse tasks such as power washing, minor electrical work, minor plumbing work, sheetrock repairs, and painting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to hold or obtain all required commercial vehicle licenses.
• Adherence to local and state laws regarding safe transport of guests.
• No texting or use of cell phones while the vehicle is in motion.
• Desired licenses or certifications: HVAC, boiler operations, contractor licenses.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Walking and standing required.
• Lifting up to 60 pounds.
