  • Comfortable working around dogs and cats in a veterinary environment.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs at both Stamford and Westport locations.
  • Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and appliance repairs.
  • Replace fixtures, hardware, lighting, ceiling tiles, and other building components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine facility inspections.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects, seasonal maintenance, and general clean-up.
  • Perform minor landscaping and exterior upkeep as needed.
  • Identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues and communicate repair needs promptly.
  • Coordinate with management when outside vendors or specialized repairs are required.
  • Maintain maintenance equipment, tools, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies.

Facilities Maintenance Technician

Spot On Veterinary supports both Stamford and Westport hospitals. Candidates must be able to reliably travel between locations as business needs require.

  • Stamford Hospital: 184 Selleck Street, Stamford, CT 06902
  • Westport Hospital: 950 Post Road East, Westport, CT 06880

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (based on availability)

About The Role

Spot On Veterinary is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our Stamford and Westport veterinary hospitals. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well‑functioning facilities. No two days are exactly alike—you may be repairing a door in the morning, touching up paint after lunch, assembling shelving, or assisting with a facility improvement project before heading home. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, resourceful, and willing to tackle a variety of maintenance tasks that help keep our hospitals operating efficiently for our staff, clients, and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs at both Stamford and Westport locations

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and reaching throughout the workday

  • Indoor and occasional outdoor work throughout the year
  • Exposure to dogs, cats, cleaning and disinfecting products, and maintenance equipment
