ABM Industries is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in a facilities environment. The role requires following schedules, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety during daily operations.

The position supports building upkeep, collaboration with contractors, and responsive service. A valid driver's license is required and the shift is Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:00pm in North Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Monitor and maintain building safety systems, including fire alarms and sprinkler systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as motors, pumps, air compressors, and HVAC units.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored securely.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Perform general building upkeep tasks, such as painting, carpentry, and minor construction.
• Assist with landscaping, snow removal, and other outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas, including workshops and storage rooms.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding building and equipment maintenance.
• Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager.
• Provide support during facility inspections and audits.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure that the building, equipment, and systems are properly maintained and operating efficiently. This role includes troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems within the facility. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will work closely with other team members to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants.

Shift : M-F 6;30am-3:00pm

Pay: $24.28 per hour.

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Preventive Maintenance
