Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support facility operations, equipment functionality, and production readiness in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of repair, installation, upkeep, and preventative maintenance tasks across the facility. The role ensures operational efficiency, manufacturing readiness, and contributes to the growth and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repair
- Perform facility-wide repairs including assembly of racks, carts, benches, and shelving.
- Conduct carpentry projects such as framing, door and window installations, drywall repairs, and adjustments.
- Handle seasonal facility tasks such as snow removal, painting, janitorial duties, and signage installation.
Electrical Systems Maintenance
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems including switches, outlets, fixtures, new circuits, and backup power systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC, CNC machines, motors, drives, servo systems, frequency inverters, encoders, and linear drives.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Run power lines to service and production equipment, selecting appropriate conductors and adhering to safety codes.
Plumbing & Pipework
- Install and repair plumbing systems including faucets, drains, toilets, and compressed air lines.
- Work with copper, PVC/CPVC, and PEX piping for various facility applications.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on conveyors, pallet jacks, compactors, and automated equipment.
- Utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other reliability-centered methods to address recurring issues or high-maintenance systems.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, including arc-flash protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and safe tool handling practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures when performing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Quickly respond to equipment breakdowns or emergencies to minimize production downtime.
- Analyze equipment performance to recommend improvements and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance or a skilled trade (electrical, mechanical, or plumbing).
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude for assembling facility-related equipment and structures.
- Practical experience with relay logic, ladder diagrams, motor starters, sensors, solenoids, and automation controls.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.

- Previous experience with PLC and CNC troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance practices and predictive maintenance tools.
