Facilities Maintenance Technician
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in general maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or related trades.
- Working knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and repair techniques.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools and maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Ability
- Troubleshoot issues and complete repairs independently.
- Maintain positive working relationships with staff and the public.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Safely operate equipment such as lifts, mowers, snow removal equipment, and other maintenance tools.

Reports To
Director of Buildings and Grounds
Performance Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on district buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Complete general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and related maintenance work.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with maintaining outdoor areas, including mowing, trimming, and snow and ice removal.
- Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and district vehicles.
- Maintain inventory of parts, materials, and supplies needed for maintenance work.
- Assist with moving furniture, event setup, and other operational needs as required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work performed.
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed, including after-hours when required.
- Work cooperatively with administration, custodial staff, and other employees to maintain facilities.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Work Schedule
Work schedule is 40 hours per week, with on-call duties for weekend emergencies on a rotating basis.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and operate lifts and similar equipment.
- Standing, walking, bending, and working for extended periods of time.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and chemicals.
