Meow Wolf’s Los Angeles facilities team seeks a hands-on Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair a dynamic, public-facing space. You will perform trades across drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, while coordinating with contractors and documenting work in the CMMS.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will ensure safe, efficient operation of our venue with a focus on guest experience and operational reliability.

Location: (On-Site) Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: The pay rate for this position is $32.00 per hour. “Off‑scale hourly rates” and other components of pay, i.e., an hourly rate that is higher than the published system‑wide hourly rate at the designated position grade, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician supports the day‑to‑day maintenance, repair, inspection, and upkeep of the building and its supporting systems. This role is for a hands‑on, versatile maintenance professional comfortable working across multiple trades and solving a wide variety of facility needs. The Facility Maintenance Technician will perform routine and intermediate repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, painting, drywall repair, carpentry, fabrication, equipment installation, filter changes, hardware replacement, and other general building maintenance. Work requiring licensed or specialized trades, including major electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life‑safety, and elevator work, will be completed by qualified contractors. The technician will support contractors while they are onsite by providing site access, helping locate equipment and building systems, communicating site‑specific information, and assisting with coordination as directed by the Facilities Manager. This position works closely with the Exhibition team and other departments to identify facility issues that may impact operations or the guest experience. The technician will document preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and asset information within Meow Wolf's CMMS and will regularly inspect the facility for safety, condition, cleanliness, and repair needs.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This job primarily operates in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, smoke machines and small and/or enclosed spaces. Outdoor settings may also be required for special events or as needed for maintenance and troubleshooting. This position may work at heights at times and equipment and training will be provided. Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including small, enclosed spaces.
Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Positioning or moving objects up to 75 pounds.
Use of maintenance tools and cleaning equipment, includes use of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Use of lead free solder with smoke extraction required.
Safely working at heights: Working in an aerial work platform, Climbing ladders, roof work.

This is a full‑time position, working an average of 40 hours a week. It requires a flexible schedule to accommodate times the exhibit is closed to the public as well as normal operating hours. Evening, overnight and weekend work are required as job duties demand.
