Job summary

Indotronix is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Technician for Ward Hill, MA. This 12-month contract role involves preventive maintenance on facility equipment, inspections, basic troubleshooting, and general building upkeep to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 1–3 years in related maintenance, with strong safety awareness and the ability to read procedures and work orders. On-site work with occasional contractor coordination is required.

Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Technician

Location: Ward Hill, MA 01835

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and other site assets according to established maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility systems to identify wear, damage, safety concerns, or potential maintenance needs.
• Complete basic troubleshooting and repairs on equipment and facility assets within the scope of training and experience.
• Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including doors, walls, flooring, fixtures, shelving, furniture, and other facility components.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry-related tasks as appropriate and within established safety requirements.
• Support the installation, relocation, assembly, and removal of equipment, furniture, shelving, and other facility assets.
• Complete manual labor activities such as moving materials, loading and unloading equipment, organizing storage areas, removing debris, and supporting facility improvement projects.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize work based on safety, operational impact, and urgency.
• Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and completed work orders.
• Identify recurring equipment or facility issues and communicate recommended repairs or corrective actions to management.
• Maintain tools, equipment, maintenance supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed to support repairs, maintenance, inspections, and facility projects.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
• Support general housekeeping, facility organization, and site readiness activities.
• Assist with emergency maintenance needs and other facility-related activities as required.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with at least 1 to 3 years in facilities maintenance, equipment maintenance, building maintenance, construction, mechanical work, or a related hands‑on role preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and determine when an issue requires escalation to a specialized technician or contractor.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, safety instructions, and work orders.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document completed maintenance activities.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
• Dependable, responsive, and willing to perform a broad range of facility and maintenance tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with assistance or material‑handling equipment used when appropriate.
• Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and material‑handling equipment as required.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and in areas that may occasionally involve noise, dust, temperature variations, or other typical facility conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing, distribution, laboratory, warehouse, or commercial facility.
• Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or electronic work‑order system.
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and asset‑management practices.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or building systems.
• OSHA, forklift, aerial lift, lockout/tagout, or other relevant safety training or certifications.
