ABOUT THE ROLE
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for helping maintain a safe, functional, and well-maintained school environment by performing general building maintenance, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and grounds support.
This is a hands‑on position that works throughout the facility and school grounds to identify maintenance needs, complete assigned work orders, and support the overall condition and appearance of the property. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety‑conscious, and comfortable working independently on a variety of maintenance tasks.
Schedule:
Full‑Time Monday through Friday 6am to 3:30pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must speak English.
Strong mechanical aptitude and general problem‑solving skills.
Ability to identify basic maintenance needs and determine when additional support is required.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work requests.
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with school staff, GSF leadership, and team members.
Ability to maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
Ability to climb stairs and safely use ladders when required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push, pull, move, and position equipment, furniture, supplies, and other materials.
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and outdoor machinery.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works both indoors and outdoors at a school facility and surrounding grounds. The employee may be exposed to changing weather conditions, dust, noise, maintenance materials, moving equipment, wet or uneven surfaces, and other conditions associated with general facility and grounds maintenance.
