Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing preventative, reactive, and emergency maintenance to ensure all on-campus facilities are maintained safely and effectively.

- Sunday - Wednesday, 9:30pm-8am

Responsibilities
- Contribute as a key member of the facilities maintenance team; understand regulatory compliance, maintenance strategies, and customer service.
- Coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance team to serve hospital campus needs.
- Complete and document all work assigned to the Facilities Maintenance crew.
- Support the Facilities Maintenance Operations Manager, Safety Team, and Facilities Director.
- Provide backup coverage for other Technicians as needed.
- Update staff and management on relevant issues.
- Communicate engineering/maintenance issues to hospital departments and contacts.
- Perform preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Conduct Environment of Care inspections and routine regulatory checks.
- Participate in ongoing training and education.
- Follow and enforce Joint Commission and CMS regulations.
- Be available for emergency on-call maintenance.
- Perform other duties as required.
Technical Expertise
- General commercial building maintenance and trades (light carpentry, painting, door hardware, locks, signage).
- Electrical systems (lockout/tag out, wiring diagrams, 120/208V, 277/480V).
- Plumbing systems (installation, repair, drainage, steam systems).
- HVAC and refrigeration (compressors, motors, pumps, controls, refrigerant recovery).
- Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Emergency evaluation and safety regulation compliance.
- Strong communication, organizational, and independent work skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with CMMS preferred.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferred; entry-level considered.
- Valid driver’s license required.
