Job summary

Discovery Land Company is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II for Makena Golf & Beach Club on Maui. The role maintains pool/spa, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and related systems to ensure exceptional member experiences.

Responsibilities include completing daily maintenance, executing projects, coordinating tasks with the Facilities Maintenance Manager, and upholding safety and quality standards. Strong communication and a team-focused attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship, preferred.
• 1+ years hands-on experience with HVAC and electrical equipment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid Drivers License.
• Proficiency in general maintenance and use of hand tools, including painting, sanding, basic electric, and snow removal.
• Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
• Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity.
• Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily/weekly maintenance activities for the club pool and spa.
• Complete projects as assigned by Facilities Maintenance Manager including electrical, mechanical, basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance for club operations.
• Communicate information related to tasks and projects that will impact service within a specific department.
• Keep work areas neat, organized and clean up job sites appropriately.
• Follow safe work practices.
• Follow project policies.
• Constructs/install or assemble small, prefabricated furniture items such as shelving, marker or bulletin boards, and similar items.
• Installs, demolishes and repairs partition walls, suspended acoustical ceilings, and window and wall trim on a limited scale.
• Paints and stains surface as necessary.
• Performs minor repairs to exterior areas such as parking lots, walls, windows, and landscape irrigation systems.
• Installs signage as directed.
• Clears roof surfaces of accumulated debris and tests roof drainage for proper operation.
• Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Makena is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician II to join the Facilities Department. The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains all building equipment in good working condition, including pool/spa, HVAC, plumbing and electrical; lighting and climate control systems; roofing systems; ground support equipment, and maintenance/cleaning equipment.
