Job summary

Mays Family YMCA at Stone Oak on Blanco Rd in San Antonio maintains facilities, pools and grounds to ensure safe, clean spaces for members and staff. The role supports budgeted labor and supplies to sustain operations across multiple trades.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years in facility management, and relevant safety certifications. The position requires driving to multiple Y locations and working in a demanding physical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of prior facility management experience.
• Knowledge of general and system preventive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and grounds.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures and manuals.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.
• Certifications within first week: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Communications, Defensive Driving, Child Abuse Prevention, and Appropriate Touch.
• Within 60 days: CPR, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen per YMCA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance duties including HVAC monitoring, pool maintenance, backwash and filter changes.
• Ensure facilities, grounds and equipment are operational and in accordance with preventative schedules.
• Identify and report malfunctions or emergencies.
• Maintain lighting, replace ballasts and repair fixtures.
• Participate in preventative maintenance program and record logs.
• Assist skilled trades with semi-skilled tasks for buildings and grounds.
