Job summary

At Duke Raleigh Hospital, Duke Health seeks a skilled maintenance professional to support the medical campus. You will perform minor repairs and assist journeyman craftsmen in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems to help keep facilities safe and comfortable for patients and staff.

The role requires 2 years of relevant experience and a high school level education with skilled trades coursework, with on-call responsibilities and a 1st shift schedule on weekdays.

Qualifications

• Educational background normally equivalent to a high school education with course work in skilled crafts or trades.
• 2 years of experience to acquire basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and air conditioning equipment, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Electrical repair, HVAC repair, plumbing repair, HVAC maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections of designated buildings and equipment.
• Repair minor equipment malfunctions such as noisy bearings, leaky faucets and pipes, and blown fuses.
• Assist journeyman level craftsmen in major repairs in electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment as needed.
• Turn lights on/off, monitor steam systems, check for leaks, and perform related duties as required.
