Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC Kansas City is seeking a Maintenance Worker / Building Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This full-time position supports building, grounds, and equipment upkeep across multiple sites, with travel between Salvation Army properties. Ideal candidates have at least one year of related maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate hand and power tools to support safe, welcoming facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of building or facilities maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and facility repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks to support safe operations.
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and HVAC maintenance.
• Respond to maintenance work orders and repair requests.
• Maintain floors through cleaning, buffing, waxing, and upkeep.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance needs.
• Perform lawn care and grounds maintenance.
• Travel between Salvation Army properties as needed.
