Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for inspection and repair of mechanical and electrical systems across the facility. You will diagnose malfunctions and handle maintenance on vehicles, motors, and various equipment, while also supervising and training staff in related tasks.

The role involves working with blueprints, maintaining records, and ensuring security in the work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in construction or repair of structures and fixtures.
• Experience or training in general maintenance and repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Experience operating powered grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and analyze equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and maintain/repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain and repair electrical, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, and fire control systems.
• Supervise and train individuals in mechanical maintenance tasks and maintain security in the work area.
