Job summary

Bosch Charleston is seeking a Team Leader for hourly employees in Wastewater Treatment (WWT) and Powerhouse (B105) to drive safety, performance, and reliable operations at the Charleston facility.

You will coordinate 24/7 coverage, conduct performance evaluations, develop training plans, and oversee maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with Bosch and regional safety rules while delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical degrees with experience considered.
  • Class D license within 1 year of starting.
  • 2+ years production/maintenance management experience.
  • Familiarity with mechanical/electrical/control systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA/OSHA/EPA/ICC/NEC regulations.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

FIRST Robotics (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)

AWIM (A World In Motion)

  • Team Leader
    • Serve as Team Leader for hourly employees in Wastewater Treatment (WWT) and Powerhouse (B105) within the Charleston facility.
    • Coordinates 24-hour coverage of WWT and B105 areas during the week, 12-hour coverage during the weekend days, and coverage during planned outages.
    • Performs performance evaluation, promotes career development, and develops training plans for hourly employees.
    • Coordinates AMs and PMs for area equipment and optimizes the best use of the techs time supporting the areas.
    • Captains 6S in B105 and WWT areas.
    • Understands Bosch and Regional safety rules and promotes a safety first environment.
    • Effective use of Bosch maintenance best practices.
  • Project Management
    • Manages projects as needed for the Facilities Construction and Maintenance (FCM) Team.
    • Provide oversight of contractors to ensure conformance to Bosch, OSHA, NFPA, ICC, and safety requirements.
    • Coordinates maintenance repairs and project activities for equipment primarily in B105 and WWT but also supports entire Charleston facility.
    • Perform and/or overseeplanning, design, estimating, and execution of work orders and complex projects related to: facilities maintenance, renovation and restoration, production equipment installation, relocation, and removal.
    • Develop scope or work and/or specifications for mechanical, plumbing, general construction, and related systems for facilities and/or production projects. Procure design services by contract as needed.
    • Develop requests for quotes (RFQ) in coordination with purchasing department.
    • Procure equipment, materials, and construction services by contract or use of in-house resources.
    • Schedule/coordinate project phasing, outages and disruptions.
    • Recommend design modifications when field conditions warrant.
    • Perform continual on-site inspection of construction activities and follow-up with customers throughout project to ensure safety, quality, timeliness, and budget expectations are met.
    • Conduct final project walk-through with customer.
    • Maintain records of construction documents to include budgets, communications, contracts, change orders, drawings/specifications, meetings, invoices, payments, purchase orders, etc.
  • Waste/Recycling Handling
    • Manages contractors and processes for any scrap materials leaving site including but not limited to general waste, hazardous waste, recyclables, truck scale, and waste/chemical handling team.
    • Works with HSE and CTG to track metrics for waste leaving site and profits from recyclables.
    • Looks to continuously reduce waste streams and increase revenues from recyclables.
    • Maintains 6S in Laydown yard
    • Ensures Environmental and CAU compliance in activities.
  • General FCM Activities
    • Maintain budget control for expenditures (capital and expense) related to B105, WWT, Waste Handling, and Scrap
    • Order and maintain spare parts inventory for WWT and B105. Investigate equipment availability to make decisions on effective spare part management within a limited budget.
    • Participate in development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives, including active participation in facilities emergency response team.
    • Develop and maintain facility strategies for proper building value preservation plan.
    • Oversee projects to improve safety, including working closely with Health, Safety, and Environmental department.
    • Performs Audits and Gemba walks to ensure services are being provided by FCM team as needed
    • Promotes technology and digitalization and looks to improve and optimize processes.
    • Supports Global Real Estate (GR) organization and participates in GR events as needed.
    • All other tasks as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree desired, engineering highly preferred. Technical degrees with experience will also be considered.
  • Must obtain a minimum Class D State Phys/ Chem treatment Operator License within 1 calendar year of starting job.
  • 2+ years of production / maintenance management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with mechanical/electrical/control systems
  • Knowledge and experience with current technology, codes, and laws applicable to facilities engineering, construction, and maintenance to include NFPA, OSHA, EPA, DHEC, ICC, and NEC.
  • SAP knowledge (highly desired)
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • The job will require a combination of office and field work. Normal office environment operating typical office machinery, such as laptop, copy machine and fax machine. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Personal protection equipment required depending on working area (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields).
