Job summary

State of Ohio offers a comprehensive facilities maintenance role requiring versatility across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general building maintenance. The position involves travel within the district to install and service systems, read blueprints, and perform routine tests on de-icing and boiler equipment.

A post-secondary program in facilities maintenance and at least three years in related trades are expected.

Qualifications

Post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology or related program.
At least 3 years of construction/building maintenance experience including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
Valid CDL may be required for operating state vehicle if assigned.

Responsibilities

Travel throughout the District to complete advanced preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs & installations.
Repair electrical systems, fixtures, controls & equipment.
Perform routine maintenance for back flow prevention systems & specialized plumbing.
Operate low-pressure boilers, check equipment for proper functioning.
Read building blueprints.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair brine de-icing systems.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all forms of commercial HVAC equipment.
Perform all aspects of general carpentry, including framing, sheet rock, interior/exterior finishing and painting and masonry.
