Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Green Valley, AZ is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Repair Employee to support general building construction and maintenance across multiple departments at Sierrita operations, located ~20 miles from Tucson.

The role involves hands-on work in welding, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and other trades, with safety as a priority. Candidates should have at least one year of related crafts experience and be able to work a non-standard schedule in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• One year of craft experience in welding, boilermaker, machinist, plumber or carpenter.
• Proficient in welding/cutting.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to read and understand English safety instructions.

Responsabilités

• Perform general building construction tasks including plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry.
• Paint, masonry, hydro-blasting, welding, fabrications, and HVAC work.
• Support site departments and routine maintenance on heavy equipment.

Visit sahuaritaaz.gov and tucsonaz.gov to learn more.## DescriptionPerforms duties related to general building construction including but not limited to plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, masonry, hydro-blasting, welding, fabrications, HVAC, Information Systems and other assigned activities.* Work with and support various site departments, such as crushing and conveying, mill, moly processing, mine and hydrometallurgical* Assist with and perform routine maintenance activities such as lubrication and mechanical preventive maintenance on heavy equipment, process equipment, conveying systems and HVAC systems* Assist with and perform non-routine maintenance activities such as maintaining roadways, building maintenance, troubleshooting, environmental activities, and emergency shutdown repairs in various departments* Operate various equipment such as front-end loaders, motor graders, forklifts, excavators, compaction equipment, overhead and mobile cranes, skid-steer loaders, twenty-five (25) ton dump trucks, backhoes, water trucks, street sweeper, vacuum trucks, rubber tire and track dozers, man lifts and fuel trucks* Work with various building materials such as hardware, finishing materials, fixtures and various structural elements* May assist with and perform duties related to ordering and receiving materials* Perform other duties as required## **What You Bring To Freeport*** One (1) year of experience in the crafts of welder, boilermaker, machinist, plumber or carpenter* Proficient in welding/cutting* Ability to multi-task**Preferred Qualifications*** High School diploma or GED* Experience with concrete work and finishing**Criteria/Conditions*** Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English* Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards* Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment* Employee will be required to work in environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity* Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms* Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day* Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State Laws**What We Offer You**The estimated pay range for this role is currently **$24.00 - $32.00/hour**. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
