Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Repair Employee for Green Valley, AZ, to perform general building construction and maintenance tasks including plumbing, welding, HVAC, carpentry and related duties. You will work with multiple site departments and operate a variety of heavy equipment.

The role requires at least one year of crafts experience and proficiency in welding. A safety-first mindset and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in welder, boilermaker, machinist, plumber or carpenter.
• Proficient in welding/cutting.
• Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building construction tasks including plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, masonry, HVAC and related activities.
• Support site departments such as crushing and conveying, mill, moly processing, mine and hydrometallurgical operations.
• Assist with routine maintenance on heavy equipment, process equipment, conveying and HVAC systems.
• Assist with non-routine maintenance, environmental activities and emergency shutdown repairs in various departments.
• Operate equipment including loaders, graders, forklifts, excavators, cranes, dozers, and other heavy machinery.
• May assist with ordering and receiving materials and perform other duties as required.

Description

Performs duties related to general building construction including but not limited to plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, painting, masonry, hydro-blasting, welding, fabrications, HVAC, Information Systems and other assigned activities.

• Work with and support various site departments, such as crushing and conveying, mill, moly processing, mine and hydrometallurgical
• Assist with and perform routine maintenance activities such as lubrication and mechanical preventive maintenance on heavy equipment, process equipment, conveying systems and HVAC systems
• Assist with and perform non-routine maintenance activities such as maintaining roadways, building maintenance, troubleshooting, environmental activities, and emergency shutdown repairs in various departments
• Operate various equipment such as front-end loaders, motor graders, forklifts, excavators, compaction equipment, overhead and mobile cranes, skid-steer loaders, twenty-five (25) ton dump trucks, backhoes, water trucks, street sweeper, vacuum trucks, rubber tire and track dozers, man lifts and fuel trucks
• Work with various building materials such as hardware, finishing materials, fixtures and various structural elements
• May assist with and perform duties related to ordering and receiving materials
• Perform other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

• One (1) year of experience in the crafts of welder, boilermaker, machinist, plumber or carpenter
• Proficient in welding/cutting
• Ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience with concrete work and finishing

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
• Employee will be required to work in environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms
• Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds during the course of the work day

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$24.00 - $32.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
