Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Supervisor for Facilities Maintenance Operations at JFK. The role oversees plant maintenance in our largest HUB, managing in-house and contracted work, and directing facilities-related activities with the Tech Ops team.

Strong HVAC knowledge and leadership experience are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. Travel may be required, and candidates must pass background checks and SIDA where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• 1 year leadership experience supervising production operation in an area related to heavy/shop maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC and industrial mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in evaluating Plant Maintenance staff and vendors.
• Review contracts and vendor quotes for accuracy and scope.
• Initiate and manage repair work orders for time and materials vendors.
• Review vendor invoices for correct charges.
• Inform station management of facilities-related damages and costs.
• Assist with part procurement and technical expertise to expedite repairs.
• Support audits to ensure compliance with facilities policies.
• Perform travel as required and pass background checks.
