CGL Facility Management, LLC in Georgia is seeking a General Trades Technician to perform multi-trade repairs across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and building systems. You'll conduct preventive maintenance, respond to emergencies, and document work using the CMMS.

The role includes reading blueprints and mentoring teammates on safety practices. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, and be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in various conditions.

Qualifications

  • Broad working knowledge across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and building systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and repair manuals.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work indoors/outdoors.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multi-trade facility repairs across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and general building systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and adhere to established PM schedules.
  • Perform HVAC PMs, including filter changes and basic servicing.
  • Respond to emergencies: sewage back-ups, water main/lateral breaks, fires, leaks, appliance failures.
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair wiring and piping; read plans to plan work.
  • Operate plant equipment and building automation systems; maintain inventory.
  • Mentor teammates on safe chemical handling and PPE.

Through CGL Facility Management, LLC, we deliver full-service, contract maintenance for complex buildings serving vital communities.A day in the roleYou start your shift by checking the CMMS, prioritizing work orders, and grabbing the right tools. By mid-morning, you’ve replaced HVAC filters as part of the preventive maintenance plan, troubleshot a lighting circuit, and repaired a leaky valve. After lunch, a service call comes in: a water line break. You locate the issue, dig to expose the lateral, repair it, backfill, and restore the area. You reference drawings and manuals, adjust building automation settings, and wrap up by documenting all work, updating parts inventory (snakes, gauges, drills, etc.), and mentoring a teammate on safe chemical handling and PPE.What you’ll handleMulti-trade facility repairs across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, appliances, water heaters, and general building systems.Preventive maintenance to keep machines, equipment, and building conditions operating smoothly and efficiently.HVAC PMs, including filter changes and basic servicing aligned to the established program.Emergency response: sewage back-ups, water main/lateral breaks (locate, dig, repair, and restore), fires, leaks, and appliance failures.Assemble, install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical/electronic components, pipe systems, machinery, and equipment.Read and use blueprints, plans, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to plan and execute work.Operate plant equipment and building automation systems.Keep tools and materials organized, service-ready, and inventoried; operate trade-specific tools safely.Handle hazardous materials per laws and regulations; maintain a clean, safe jobsite that meets CGL, OSHA, and client standards.Identify and correct unsafe conditions promptly; follow all safety practices and procedures.Enter and manage work orders in the CMMS per CGL policy.Share knowledge by mentoring technicians from other trades.Who you areHigh School Diploma or GED required.1–3 years of building maintenance or a related trade experience preferred.Broad working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems.Computer proficient; clear communicator with strong client-facing interpersonal skills.Reliable team player with a positive attitude; self-directed and able to prioritize multiple tasks.Physically able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather; lift 50 lbs regularly and occasionally more than 50 lbs.Willing to take occasional on-call shifts.Valid in-state driver’s license required.EPA 608 and trade certifications preferred.Mobility and scheduleThis role involves driving for company business: you may operate a company vehicle (from rarely to frequently), or use a personal/rental vehicle more than 50% of the time, depending on assignment needs.CompensationWe offer competitive, equitable pay determined by location, skills, education, licenses/certifications, and experience, with a commitment to pay equity.
