Job summary

Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance, safety, and operations of the clinics, grounds, and building systems. Under the CIO, you will supervise maintenance staff, coordinate with vendors, and implement preventative maintenance while ensuring a clean, safe, and professional medical environment.

Full-time, 40 hours, 8am-5pm, with on-call flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or related field preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, equipment, and general building maintenance issues.
  • Ability to determine when outside vendor, licensed contractor, or specialized service support is required.
  • Experience coordinating outside vendors, contractors, preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service work preferred.
  • Supervisory, team leadership, vendor oversight, or project coordination experience preferred.
  • High level of problem-solving skills and ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the main contact for facility-related issues, including building maintenance, repairs, equipment concerns, grounds issues, and facility support needs.
  • Troubleshoots plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, equipment, and general building maintenance issues.
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance work within authorized scope and ability, and coordinates qualified outside vendors or licensed contractors when work exceeds internal capability.
  • Works with outside vendors and contractors to obtain service, schedule work, coordinate access, review completion, and ensure facility issues are resolved timely and professionally.
  • Develops, maintains, and tracks preventative maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, HVAC units, plumbing systems, lighting, life-safety equipment, and other facility assets.
  • Checks fire extinguishers on a monthly basis to ensure they remain operational and coordinate corrective action when needed.
  • Maintains the buildings and grounds by identifying needed repairs, correcting minor issues, and coordinating larger repairs or projects.
  • Provides oversight, direction, and coordination for cleaning, groundskeeping, maintenance support, vendor activity, and other facility-related service work.
  • Supports safety and compliance in the medical clinic environment, including safe work practices, hazard identification, infection-control awareness, biohazard concern escalation, and timely correction of facility-related safety issues.
  • Communicates facility status, repair needs, project updates, vendor issues, and safety concerns to the CIO and other leadership as appropriate.
  • Prioritizes facility needs in a manner that supports patient care, employee safety, physician schedules, clinic operations, and business continuity.
  • Runs facility-related errands, including pickup, delivery, or transport of supplies, parts, equipment, or materials.
  • Installs, assembles, moves, or assists with setup of new equipment, furniture, fixtures, supplies, signage, and other facility-related items.
  • Assists with office moves, furniture moves, storage organization, renovation support, equipment relocation, and clinic support projects.
  • Responds to urgent facility needs, including leaks, temperature issues, plumbing concerns, access issues, equipment problems, safety concerns, weather-related issues, and other operational disruptions.
  • Provides input to leadership regarding repair priorities, vendor needs, replacement recommendations, facility improvements, and long-term maintenance planning.

Job Summary

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager, under the direction of the CIO, is responsible for the daily maintenance, safety, appearance, and operational readiness of Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons’ facilities, grounds, equipment, and building systems. This position serves as the main contact for facility-related issues and combines hands-on maintenance work with oversight of preventative maintenance, outside vendors, contractors, cleaning, groundskeeping, and facility support services. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager troubleshoots and coordinates repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, equipment, and general building maintenance issues while supporting a safe, clean, professional, and functional medical clinic environment. Regular attendance is an essential part of this job.

Full Time: 40 hours, 8AM-5PM (must have flexibility for calls outside of normal business hours)

Job Qualifications
  • Experience working in a commercial, healthcare, medical office, clinical, or similar facility setting preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in facility maintenance, building operations, commercial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, equipment, and general building maintenance issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine when outside vendor, licensed contractor, or specialized service support is required.
  • Experience coordinating outside vendors, contractors, preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service work preferred.
  • Supervisory, team leadership, vendor oversight, or project coordination experience preferred.
  • High level of problem-solving skills and ability to work independently, prioritize issues, and follow through on assigned responsibilities.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for facility-related errands or business needs, if required by company policy.
