Job Description
The purpose of this position is to manage multiple functions of building operations, maintenance, and safety. Responsibilities include ensuring that all buildings are Code Compliant, meeting all legal requirements and Health and Safety standards. The position will manage all facility vendor relations and oversee policy compliance for safety, security, and sanitation throughout warehouse operations. It involves identifying non-compliance risks, developing policies with operations staff, and planning communication and training programs to ensure employee understanding of compliance roles. Provides assistance to the VP of Operations as required.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilities:
- Serve as the single point of contact for all building customers and liaise with service providers.
- Ensure safe, code-compliant facilities and infrastructure.
- Manage all preventative, necessary maintenance, and repairs for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Track and record all project completions and updates in the CMMS.
- Oversee fire system inspections, documentation, and emergency preparedness.
- Manage operations during inclement weather conditions.
- Implement and oversee Integrated Pest Management, analyzing inspection data trends and communicating with management.
- Schedule daily projects supporting management needs.
- Train maintenance teams and contractors on facility requirements.
- Manage budgets within approved limits and provide monthly updates.
- Develop and administer maintenance, construction, or service contracts, including RFPs, bid evaluations, and contract awards.
- Coordinate projects with contractors, oversee project progress, and approve invoices.
- Procure building materials, tools, and fuel.
Safety:
- Develop and maintain policies for the Compliance Program to prevent misconduct.
- Manage customer audits, inspections, and compliance reporting to agencies like OSHA, FDA, etc.
- Evaluate violations, initiate investigations, and oversee reporting procedures.
- Review and resolve compliance issues, keeping senior management informed.
- Collaborate with HR to develop compliance training programs for all employees.
- Review and update Standards of Conduct regularly.
- Maintain industry standard knowledge to ensure operational excellence.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least 4 years of experience in warehousing, including leadership roles, with knowledge of operational and quality assurance procedures.
- Knowledge of logistics laws and regulations.
- OSHA certification required.
- Background in warehouse operations and food safety.
- Flexible working hours based on company needs.
