Job summary

Equinox is seeking a Maintenance Manager to supervise maintenance staff and operations across our clubs, ensuring cleanliness and safety while upholding Equinox standards. You will oversee daily tasks, trainings, inspections, and inventory to support high-demand fitness environments.

Ideal candidates bring proven maintenance experience in fitness settings, ability to hire/train, knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems, and strong budget skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a commercial fitness or similar setting.
• Ability to hire, direct, and train staff.
• Knowledge of maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and exercise equipment.
• Knowledge and experience with tools.
• Knowledge and experience with janitorial cleaning products and OSHA standards.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Good financial management.
• Ability to implement new techniques and solve problems.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and apply Equinox’s policies and procedures.
• Hire, train, supervise, coach and evaluate maintenance staff.
• Develop employees with potential Maintenance Supervisor capabilities.
• Conduct performance evaluations on annual basis.
• Perform 30, 60, and 90-day reviews on new hires.
• Attend monthly facility reviews with Manager on Duty.
• Train new staff with club-specific cleaning checklists.
• Complete cleanliness inspections.
• Report daily to GMIT for open tasks.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance and locker room supplies.
• Ensure safety procedures and emergency readiness.
• Participate in budget development for Maintenance Department.
• Maintain high visibility during peak hours and customer service standards.
