Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead for the Kansas City, KS campus. This full-time role reports to the Director of Administration and coordinates daily maintenance work, performs repairs, and ensures inspection-ready facilities and grounds.

You will guide a maintenance team, manage work orders, and supervise preventive maintenance across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry tasks, with on-call responsibility during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible building maintenance experience; five (5) years with lead work preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, safety information, and maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance work and lead staff under set priorities.
• Maintain records for work orders, inspections, and asset management.
• Provide hands-on guidance and perform skilled maintenance tasks.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and documentation for inspections and repairs.
• Coordinate with contractors and report performance concerns to leadership.
• Perform grounds, seasonal, and facility upkeep tasks as needed.
