Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to manage daily upkeep, cleanliness, and readiness of an assigned YMCA facility. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, make minor repairs, and document work in the work-order system to keep operations smooth and welcoming for members, staff, and guests.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• 2–3 years of building maintenance or facilities experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and safety practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform varied maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and supervises the operation of the assigned facility.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Troubleshoots plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Receives and completes maintenance requests via work-order system and documents work.
• Conducts daily facility inspections and monitors custodial quality.
• Coordinates with Regional Facilities Coordinator for scheduling and staffing.
• Assists with grounds maintenance, pools, and related equipment as applicable.
• Responds to emergencies and severe weather; coordinates with on-site staff.
• Travel to other Association properties to assist with maintenance as directed.
