Job summary

True North Recovery, Inc. is seeking a dependable Laborer to join our Job Training Program alongside our facilities team in Wasilla, Alaska.

This temporary full-time role supports in-house maintenance to create safe, welcoming environments for clients and staff. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of general construction experience, can work independently, and may travel to remote locations occasionally.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic maintenance and construction procedures.
• Proven plumbing and electrical experience.
• Strong project and time management abilities.
• Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Facilities Director with facility improvement and maintenance.
• Complete assigned work efficiently and with attention to detail.
• Assist with carpentry and remodeling tasks: framing, flooring, drywall, painting, trim, countertops, tile.
• Window installation, siding, fencing, and bathroom remodels.
• Light plumbing and electrical work.
• Manage and stock tools, materials, and supplies.
• Maintain a safe and organized worksite.
• Communicate clearly with other departments.
