Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs central Texas Veterans Health Care System, Engineering Service in Waco, Texas, seeks a Laborer to support maintenance operations. You will perform ground maintenance and related facility tasks under the supervision of the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor.

Work in outdoor/indoor environments with heavy physical demands, operating equipment and assisting with loading, unloading, and various upkeep duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Break up pavement using jackhammers and clear sidewalks.
• Operate large walking-type and simple riding-type mowers with limited adjustments.
• Load/unload materials, supplies, and packages; move heavy furniture and equipment.
• Assist driver with loading/unloading, backing up, and turning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
