Job Summary

Performs as a licensed journeyman in the HVACR trade and maintains facilities and systems within code limitations. Provides work direction to contractors and assists with training and leadership roles.

Under supervision, maintains facilities, equipment, and systems, interpreting blueprints, manuals, and diagrams. Uses hand tools and specialty equipment for repairs and inspections.

Key Accountabilities

• Inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems including furnaces, boilers, refrigeration units, air handling units, pumps, and piping.
• Installs, replaces, and repairs electrical and mechanical components such as motors, fans, controls, and piping.
• Performs minor repairs and installations, including lighting, switches, piping, and flooring.
• Analyzes faults and repairs electrical and control systems.
• Estimates jobs, supports material preparation, and operates work management systems.
• Operates equipment like cranes, lifts, and vehicles; performs welding and piping work.
• Reads blueprints and follows codes during installation and repairs.
• Maintains supplies and ensures a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• State of Michigan Mechanical Contractor license or 4 years relevant experience
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License
• Minimum 3 years of commercial/industrial experience
• Ability to understand instructions, lift 40 pounds, and meet physical requirements
• Valid driver's license and good driving record

Additional Qualifications

Preferred: strong understanding of electrical systems, hydraulics, and fluid dynamics.
