Job summary

Metropolitan Market is seeking a Maintenance Helper Clerk to keep the store facilities clean, safe, and fully functional. The role supports maintenance of interior and exterior areas, equipment, and fixtures, while promoting a safe work environment for associates and customers.

Key duties include adhering to HACCP and health requirements, performing scheduled maintenance, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with upkeep of lighting, safety equipment, and overall store conditions.

Qualifications

• One year experience in cleaning, maintenance, and industry related light repair work required.
• One year experience in professional mechanical/electrical/plumbing role preferred.
• General knowledge of industry related cleaning tools, solutions, and MSDS experience preferred.
• Demonstrates an understanding of basic health and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality output while working within deadlines a must.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance: assist with interior and exterior store areas and equipment; ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
• Operations: follow HACCP/health guidelines; complete daily tasks; support meetings and training; prevent loss and maintain safety.
