Job summary

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) in Virginia Beach seeks a facility maintenance worker to maintain and operate clean indoor and outdoor fitness and aquatic spaces.

You will perform a range of duties from cleaning and sanitizing restrooms to loading, stocking supplies, mowing, and operating power equipment for sports fields and grounds. Flexible tours may include weekends and holidays; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and able to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning and janitorial techniques.
• Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on outdoor equipment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Position may be subject to irregular tour of duty including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Keep facilities and grounds surrounding fitness facilities clean and orderly.
• Operate power tools and equipment to maintain outdoor facilities; perform minor repairs or parts replacement as needed.
• Load, unload, transport, store supplies and stock shelves.
• Sweep, mop, sanitize bathrooms, showers, and common areas; replenish supplies.
• Perform general maintenance such as painting, replacing light bulbs, washing towels, restocking soap and paper towels.
• Maintain cleanliness of indoor spaces, including lobbies, exercise rooms, and offices.
• Perform tasks for outside areas such as mowing, edging, raking, shoveling snow, and trash removal.
