Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Louisville, KY is seeking a Maintenance Laborer to perform grounds upkeep, shop support, and basic repairs. You will operate hand and power tools, assist in maintaining equipment, and ensure safety while handling materials and containers.

The role involves outdoor work in varying weather, lifting up to 100 lbs, and occasional night/weekend hours. Strong work ethic and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Safety-focused mindset.
• Experience with hand tools and equipment is preferred.
• CDL driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds and surrounding areas including shop cleaning and general housekeeping.
• Operate various hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools and equipment.
• Maintain and ensure safe operating condition of equipment and tools per rules/regulations.
• Pressure-wash and perform minor repairs to shop tools, bins, containers, and shop tasks.
• Drive safely while transporting, loading, and unloading shop supplies, parts, and tools.
• Assist with general housekeeping of maintenance shops and offices.
• Perform minor repairs and general upkeep of maintenance facility.
• Clean, prepare, and paint containers as needed.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Assist with various lines of business, projects, or areas as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
