Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital in Rocky River, OH seeks a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance team delivering preventative, reactive and emergency services. You will ensure facilities are safe and well-maintained while coordinating with the Regional Facilities Team and on/off-site locations.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing performance, coordinating with the Director and Operations Manager, supporting budgets, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification: Universal Refrigeration license preferred.
• Years of experience: 5–7 years preferred.
• Supervisory experience: 1–3 years preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Facilities Maintenance team; ensure preventative, reactive and emergency maintenance.
• Supervise staff, coach, train, and manage performance.
• Coordinate with Director of Facilities and Operations Manager.
• Support on/off-site locations and Regional Facilities Team.
• Assist in budgeting and expenditure controls.
• Assign work to maintenance crew and monitor completion.
• Provide guidance to staff and on-call coverage when needed.
• Communicate maintenance issues to hospital departments and contacts.
• Review, oversee and execute projects with technicians or vendors.
• Read blueprints and drawings; assist with engineering issues.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS regulations.
