Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a technically grounded Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to lead the upkeep and operational readiness of our brand-new Houston manufacturing plant. As part of the launch team, you will support a world-class facility specializing in metal fabrication, powder coat painting, and electro‑mechanical assembly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Department Foundation & PM Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) program; transition the facility from reactive to a data-driven reliability model using a CMMS.
  • Asset Integrity: Oversee the mechanical and electrical health of all plant equipment, specifically overhead bridge cranes, forklifts, and specialized industrial fabrication machinery.
  • Electrical Leadership: Act as the primary technical authority for plant electrical systems; guide maintenance technicians through complex troubleshooting of high-voltage distribution, control panels, and PLC-driven equipment.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians; set performance standards, conduct safety training, and manage shift scheduling to ensure 24/7 facility readiness.
  • Vendor & Lifecycle Management: Manage third‑party contractors for specialized repairs, annual crane certifications, and facility upgrades; utilize total cost of ownership (TCO) logic for spare parts procurement and equipment upgrades.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations meet OSHA, NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety), and environmental standards; own the lockout/tagout (LOTO) program and machine guarding protocols.
  • Budget Accountability: Manage the maintenance budget, focusing on inventory health for critical spares to ensure zero‑downtime production.

Required Experience & Education

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master’s degree is a strong plus.

Professional Tenure: 6‑8+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment; experience as a Lead Tech, Foreman, or Supervisor is required.

Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of industrial electrical & mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drives; ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints.

Equipment Specifics: Proven experience maintaining automated fabrication equipment and powder coat paint lines is a must.

Software Fluency: Proficiency in utilizing CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Oracle, or specialized platforms like UpKeep/Fiix) to track work orders and asset history.

Certifications (A Plus): Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or mechanical/electrical journeyman/master license is a significant advantage.

This is an ITAR facility; applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
