Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Savannah, GA is seeking a Maintenance Director to manage and repair the community’s physical structures and utilities. You will supervise staff and contractors, oversee housekeeping and maintenance assistants, and ensure the preventative maintenance program runs efficiently.

The role requires knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and A/C-HVAC systems, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and A/C-HVAC equipment.
• Two years previous experience in a maintenance position, preferably in a large physical plant.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and follow written and oral directions.
• Must be organized and able to work well with residents, visitors, staff, and management.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the preventative maintenance program for all equipment in the community.
• Checks, reads, and logs gauges and thermometers on boilers and in cooler/freezer daily.
• Responsible for maintenance of drains, access areas, grease traps, garbage cans, cooling tower and mechanical rooms.
• Oversees grounds maintenance, refuse pick-up, and outside appearances.
• Investigates mechanical breakdowns and updates maintenance program accordingly.
• Repairs emergency breakdowns in the shortest possible time.
• Initiates and maintains efficiency programs to reduce waste and expenses.
• Maintains safe operating and fire prevention practices, including monthly fire drills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
