Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Base Camp Facilities Maintenance technician to perform preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance on building systems and equipment. This 3rd shift role (11pm-7:30am, Sun-Thu) involves electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and finishing tasks in our Springfield, Missouri facilities.

You will respond to emergencies, manage work orders, inspect roofs, maintain HVAC and fire-suppression systems, and support events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade education preferred.
• Minimum two years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read building plans and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and repair maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Maintain Data Center climate control and fire detection/suppression systems.
• Execute minor electrical work: switches, ballasts, lamps, motors.
• Inspect roofs, flashing, and perform routine building inspections.
• Respond to emergencies and manage work orders.
• Support events and weather-related cleanup.
• Operate and maintain tools and lifts.

Position Summary

The Base Camp Facilities Maintenance role is responsible for performing preventative, corrective and routine maintenance on the building systems and assigned equipment. This includes performing projects and response maintenance duties on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building finish skills. This position is 3rd Shift: 11pm-7:30am Sun-Thurs.

Essential Functions

• Performs preventative and repair maintenance for the building envelope and connected systems.
• Performs routine maintenance on Data Center climate control and fire detection and suppression systems.
• Schedules and performs minor electrical maintenance consisting of replacing switches, replacing ballasts and lamps in lighting fixtures, and replacing motors.
• Performs inspections and minor repairs to the building roofs and flashing.
• Performs routine building inspections, creates, and performs work orders.
• Responds to emergencies; serves as the primary contact for all facilities emergencies while on shift. (including but not limited to fire alarms, HVAC systems, and electrical issues)
• Cleans up spills, drain back up, roof leaks, etc.
• Maintains paint and touch ups throughout the building.
• Supports special events such as VIP visits and company assemblies.
• Performs weather cleanup - tree debris, snow removal, etc.
• Completes site litter clean up as required.

Shift Requirement

3rd shift 11pm-7:30am Sun-Thurs.

Experience / Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred Degree: Trade, Tech or Vocational Education in Industrial Technology
• Years of experience: Two or more years

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

• A thorough understanding of general facilities maintenance along with a skill set that includes basic proficiencies in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Electrical (120-480v) with the ability to operate electrical testing equipment.
• Ability to operate scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• General knowledge of HVAC, Carpentry, and Fire Suppression Systems.
• Skill commensurate with duties outlined above.
• Friendly demeanor, service-oriented attitude, and engaging communication skills.
• Good observation and follow-through skills.
• Sufficient computer skill for work order fulfillment.
• Ability to read building plans.
• Excellent time management skills.

Travel Requirements

Local offsite properties with ability to operate company vehicles.

Physical Requirements

Regular walks, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs. Occasional computer work and sitting. Ability to climb ladders and ability to work from elevated heights.

Independent Judgement

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
