Job summary

Arkansas Early Learning, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support maintenance and repairs across multiple centers in Arkansas.

Under the supervision of the Facilities and Transportation Manager, you will assist with daily upkeep, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance for buildings and vehicles. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and may have at least one year of maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Prefer at least one year of experience in maintenance or facility services in a setting such as school, daycare, restaurant, hospital.
• Prefer at least one year experience in vehicle maintenance, parts/supplies and other transportation related equipment.
• Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing and roofing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance and repairs for all agency buildings, facilities and vehicles.
• Coordinate with Facilities Manager and contractors to ensure compliance with transportation, maintenance and facilities standards.
• Monitor and support safety and regulatory compliance related to facilities.

NOW HIRINg a Facilities Assistant

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities and Transportation Manager, the Facilities Assistant assists in maintenance and repairs for all of the Agency's buildings, facilities, and agency vehicles; monitors and works with the other Facilities Assistants and contractors, while assuring compliance with standards and regulations as they relate to transportation, maintenance, and facilities.

Education And/or Experience

• Minimum of High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Prefer at least one year of experience in maintenance or facility services in an environment such as school, daycare, full-service restaurant, hospital, etc.
• Prefer at least one year experience in vehicle maintenance, parts/supplies and other transportation related equipment.
• Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing and roofing.
• Some related office experience, in record keeping, spreadsheets, tracking and contact with the public preferred.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10-50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally with reasonable accommodation.

Required

• Must have a valid Driver's License with immediate access to a legally insured vehicle.
• Must be able to drive an automobile, full size pickup, and a van.
• Must at least have auto liability insurance and must keep it current.
