Job summary

Tampa Torah Academy is seeking a Facilities Maintenance & Custodial Associate to keep the campus clean, safe, and fully operational. You will manage daily cleaning, minor repairs, and upkeep of indoor and outdoor spaces, contributing to a welcoming environment for students and staff.

The role requires independent work, reliability, and a hands-on approach to plumbing, electrical tasks, and general maintenance as needed on a full-time basis.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in custodial, maintenance, or facilities work preferred.
• Working knowledge of cleaning procedures, products, and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough daily cleaning of the entire school, including classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect, and sanitize all surfaces to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Remove trash and recycling from all areas of the building.
• Deep clean assigned areas on a scheduled basis.
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the building.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining sinks and toilets.
• Handle basic electrical work such as replacing light bulbs, fixtures, and addressing minor issues.
• Assist with sewer and drainage maintenance as needed.
• Maintain outdoor areas including lawn care (mowing, trimming, watering, and general upkeep).
• Set up and break down spaces for school events and activities.
• Monitor the facility for safety hazards and report major repair needs promptly.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
