Job summary

Gentex is seeking a Facilities Maintenance professional to help monitor and maintain production and support facilities in Michigan. You will perform a wide range of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, monitor building elements, and assist with related projects to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in facilities maintenance or construction, understand building elements, and can obtain hi-lo and man-lift certifications.

• Knowledge and understanding of building elements required.
• Understanding of furniture systems and its installation is useful.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of scheduled and unscheduled Facilities Maintenance tasks.

• Basic troubleshooting of facilities equipment.
• General grounds and snow removal duties.
• Perform emergency support tasks in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Security and Housekeeping as needed.
• Assist in furniture installation and relocation.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

• To monitor and maintain the appearance of all production and support facilities.
• To increase control over a multitude of support projects and provide assistance in detailed building, production and vehicle maintenance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a wide variety of scheduled and unscheduled Facilities Maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and repair building elements i.e. door, ceilings, floor coverings, lighting etc. Assist with Facilities and Production support related projects.
• Basic troubleshooting of facilities equipment.
• General grounds and snow removal duties.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform emergency support tasks in the areas of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Security and Housekeeping. Assist with corporate vehicle washing and maintenance.
• Assist in the installation and relocation of office furniture.
• Other misc. duties to include parts runs, leak detection, clean up etc.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
• Maintain high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

POSITION DEMANDS:

• Prefer 1-3 years experience in Facilities Maintenance or construction.
• Knowledge and understanding of building elements required.
• Understanding of furniture systems and its installation is useful.
• High school graduate preferred. Ability to obtain hi-lo and man-lift certifications.

• This position reports to the facilities manager
• Takes daily direction from Facilities Lead personnel.
