Job summary

LEGOLAND New York Resort is seeking a Facility Maintenance Team member to support back-of-house sanitation and perform minor repairs around the park. You will drive a pickup with trailer, handle heavy lifting, and help keep the resort clean and safe in all weather.

The role requires flexible hours, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with a friendly team. Merlin Entertainments offers exciting perks and a positive guest-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive a pickup with trailer and operate automatic/manual transmission.
• Empty trash along back-of-house routes.
• Move receptacles to the waste transfer station.
• Perform minor repairs and upkeep of buildings.
• Assist Utility Technicians with repairs.
• Operate power washers and leaf blowers for cleanliness.
• Report equipment or facility problems to leadership.
• Perform related project work as needed.
• Respond to duties as directed by manager.

Facility Maintenance Role

About The Role

The Facility Maintenance Team handles all sanitation for the back of house areas in the resort as well as any minor facility repairs within the park.

Role Description

• Ability to drive a pickup truck with trailer and have knowledge of operating an automatic and manual transmission.
• Responsible for emptying trash cans along the designated back of house route.
• Moves trash receptacles from designated back of house stops to inside our waste transfer station.
• Responsible for minor repairs and upkeep of all buildings.
• Assists Utility Technicians with specialized repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to operate leaf blowers and power washers to assist with the overall cleanliness of the resort.
• Notifies leadership team (team leads, managers) of any equipment or facility problems for corrective action.
• Performs related work on projects as deemed necessary or required.
• Respond to any other various duties as directed by your manager.

About You

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Requires the ability to effectively follow directions, observe, and remember details.
• Requires the ability to maintain a friendly, polite, service oriented demeanor.
• Effective decision-making skills are required.
• Must speak and read Basic English language.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late evenings and weekends to support park operations
• Heavy Lifting over 50 lbs. is required.
• Must have a clean driving record, valid drivers license.
• Knowledge of small engine equipment is preferred:
• Power washers
• Leaf blowers
• Street Sweepers
• Trash compactors and trash receptacle tippers
• Basic small tool knowledge
