Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Detroit, MI seeks Facility Maintenance lead and crew members to maintain and repair essential building systems across regional facilities. You will perform welding, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and roofing tasks as part of a dynamic maintenance team.

Travel is required (5–10 days per trip) with a $50 per diem, an expense account for fuel and purchases, plus mileage reimbursement; work is Monday–Friday, 10-12 hour day shifts, with competitive pay up to $35/hour.

Qualifications

• Welding experience with SMAW on heavy structural carbon steel.
• Plumbing maintenance and fixture replacement knowledge.
• Electrical work including circuits, outlets, and lighting.
• Carpentry and drywall repair skills.
• HVAC preventive maintenance and basic diagnostics.
• Roofing repair experience with EPDM/TPO materials.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building systems across regional facilities.
• Perform welding, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and roofing tasks.
• Travel to assigned facilities as required (5–10 days per trip).

Central Transport, one of the leading transportation and logistics firms in the nation, is seeking Facility Maintenance lead and crew members. The positions is based out of our facility in Detroit, MI and services other locations in the region.

Qualifications

• Welding - Strong knowledge using stick welder (SMAW) welding heavy structural carbon steel (Dock plates, Dock bumpers, Doors)
• Plumbing – general bathroom plumbing maintenance, familiar with flush vales (Sloan, Zurn, etc) and drains (including cabling/snaking when required). Repairing copper, pex, sink, faucet, toilet replacement.
• Electrical – add circuit and outlet/switch, replace outlet/switch, light fixtures/ballasts
• Carpentry – install floor tiles including ceramic and VCT, repair and hang metal/wood doors, masonry repairs, concrete repairs, drywall, and other trades
• HVAC – seasonal preventive maintenance and minor diagnostic/repair
• Roofing Repair – EPDM, TPO Chain link fence installation and repair

Additional Experience (Plus)

• Experience operating skid steer and attachments
• Commercial garage door repair
• Proper equipment – knowing what tools are needed for certain tasks

Pay: Up to $35/Hour for candidates with thorough and verifiable experience in any combination of the above qualifications

Schedule: Monday-Friday – 10-12 Hour Shift – Day Shift

Must have the ability to travel in order to service a number of facilities within an assigned geographical region. Travel out 5-10 days per trip

The position also includes $50/day per diem while traveling, an expense account for fuel and/or business related purchases, as well as mileage reimbursement based on company policy.
